My favorite moment in history

My favorite moment in history would have to be recently when Obama became president. I never thought that I would be calling an African American man my president. Many people said that there would never be a black man in the white house but, there is and I was there to see this. It was the first time I ever sat and listened to anyone speak and when he began to run I started watching all of his speeches. If I could not I would have looked it up on the web or in different news papers.
I would hear all of these stories about how my grand mother would wish we had a black president and how she didn't have this or she didn't have that as she was growing up never really bothered me. But when one actually ran and won the election changed my thoughts on that. I used to think wow you never had this? That's crazy but, it's not my fault. Everything upgraded since then. But now it's like Wow i can't believe there was never a African American president before.
This man is trying to change many things that the other presidents messed up such as schools and medical rights. He has a harder time because he isn't working forward yet. He has to work backwards to fix everything that the previous presidents messed up. It's amazing how time has changed. Next thing you know we'll have a female president.
